Hi, Joe Keil here. I'm am a Cinematographer based in the Pacific Northwest. I enjoy traveling, hiking, flying drones, and coffee. I have worked as Director of Photography on a series, several music videos and short films, and now in 2024 I am committed to a feature-length film and a documentary.

Lots of loves brought me to cinematography (Star Wars, camera gear, drones), but nothing keeps me as intrigued as finding beautiful methods to share a great story.
My Story
I grew up in the Midwest and couldn't wait to leave. At 19 I 'ran away' to Alaska to pursue my dream of running Sled Dogs. After working for a tour company for several years, I founded Seward Helicopter Tours as the premiere glacier dogsledding experience in South-Central Alaska. I spent my winters racing dog teams in 200-mile events, eventually enduring the Iditarod Trail on a 700+ mile expedition in 2011. Soon after, I met Brittany - and it all changed.

Brittany grew up in Seward, AK and she couldn't wait to leave - sound familiar? We hit it off right when we met, and quickly discovered that we both wanted a family. Over the next several years I sold my company, homed my sled dogs, got married, moved to Seattle, and started a family. We are now the proud parents of Maxwell , 7, and Jude, almost 1.

When we aren't busy working and chasing kids around, we travel. Our daughter Max has been to 49 States (Hawaii will be number 50) and about 46 National Parks. She has traveled with us to Mexico, Vietnam, Canada, Costa Rica, Ireland, Korea, Iceland, and we're adding Belize to the list soon.
